A $100,000 donation has been made to the Canadian Red Cross to help with recovery efforts
CLAC is pleased to announce that in the wake of the devastating floods and landslides that have affected communities in British Columbia, the CLAC Foundation is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help with recovery efforts.
This gift will be matched by the provincial and federal governments, bringing the total to $300,000 for flood victim support.
“We know that the recent flooding in BC has impacted thousands of residents, many of whom have still not be able to get their lives back together and have lost homes, possessions, farms, and livestock," says Dan VanKeeken, CLAC Foundation program manager. “We also know that the Red Cross stepped up and provided so much immediate and effective help all over the province, and we wanted to part of that support by providing a significant gift, thanks to funding from CLAC. We were delighted to present this cheque to the Red Cross on behalf of the 60,000 members and 275 staff of CLAC in Canada, including BC.”
